Staghills Woods 09:00 green woodpecker calling & c20 redwing

Holmes Terrace Lodge 11:00 2 mallard, 4 moorhen, 2 coot, 1 chiffchaff singing nearby & 1 pr long tailed tits.

EBSW 11:45 1 pr shelduck, 1 pr mallard, 1m pheasant & 1 calling, c20 black headed gull, 15 herring gull over, 4 lesser black back gull over, 1 female sparrowhawk over the beds, putting everything to flight, 1 kingfisher flying over, 2 jay, c30 carrion crow, c75 jackdaw, 1 pr ravens seen flying over Horncliffe, only around 5 pied wagtail, 1 grey wagtail on the beds & 1 pr on the river, 1 meadow pipit, 1 blackcap, 1 chiffchaff, 1 pr long tailed tit, 1 pr bullfinch & 1pr reed bunting.

Irwell Vale 1m pheasant, 1m sparrowhawk, 1 great spotted woodpecker, 1pr Nuthatch & 2 or 3 prs long tailed tit.

Where are the Nuthatches in Irwell Vale, I have never seen any in this area, plenty of Tree Creepers but never a Nuthatch.

They are near the bridge that goes to Lumb Vale.  They are easily missed.  I wouldn't have noticed them had Bob Ives not pointed them out to me.  Somebody I spoke to who lives at Lumb Vale said that he gets them at his garden feeders on a regular basis.
