E.B.S.W. 1/4/7 - 18:20 approx.

c20 Pied Wagtail, c4 Grey Wagtail, 1 Stock Dove, 5 B.H.Gull, pr Shelduck the m. repelling a crow.

Lumb Vale
Several groups of L.B.B.Gull moving from over Holcombe then Bull Hill and towards Grane at least 47 birds in 20 mins.

An Osprey came out of Lumb Vale pursed by crows and flew over the sewage works where another hundred corvids rose to greet it. Its line of flight continued towards Road End where it tuned and moved N.E. over the hospital. We eventually lost it in the background of the houses below Haslingden Old Road, its probable route looked to be up the Limy valley.

Also a report of a Buzzard from Clowbridge res. this morning from A.Jones this bird flew in the direction of Red Moss west of Clough Bottom res.

You typed this up whilst I was typing my sightings up Bob.  the osprey flew over Rawtenstall along the Irwell valley where it was mobbed by 2 crows & 6 jackdaws.  The shelduck had already chased a pr of mallard off one of the beds before it had a go at the crow, I had no idea they were as aggressive as this.
