Tuesday April 3rd 2007 - Haslingden Laund 0730hrs - 0830hrs Wind: NNE 10mph Movement: NW unless stated otherwise
Pipits had slowed down this morning compared to yesterday, they were yet again impeded with strong head on winds from the North, which were keeping them very low to the ground and difficult to spot, together with heavy drizzle, although the drizzle had started to clear on leaving.
Meadow Pipits: 50 approx Chaffinch: 3
Jean: you had a good count yesterday, and very similar in numbers to here in relation to the 0730hrs mark, and yes the same thing happens over here at this time of the year, where the maximum count numbers tend to be mid-late mornings (in relation to MPipits). They are without doubt currently showing peak number parties at present (between the 5 and 10) and if this wind swings around and drops a little we should get a good week....
