1 male emperor dragonfly, 1 blue tailed damselfly & 13 male & 3 prs common blue damselfly.

Hi Jim

I was surprised too, especially as I had just spent about 20 minutes sheltering under a tree during a particularly heavy downpour.  I forgot to add there was a dragonfly on the iris in the corner that looked as though it had just emerged from the water.  It's shape suggested it was a chaser, but my knowledge of dragonflies doesn't extend beyond the sheets of paper you gave us at the meeting, so I have absolutely no idea what it was.

Hi Kevin -

This is a link to some ID pages on the Lancs Dragonfly Atlas site which may help. They may be the same photos as on the sheets, but they might help.

newly emerged ones tend to look like pale versions of their mature selves, but may be quite differently coloured.

You seem to be picking up dragonfly ID pretty well.
