emperor dragonfly 1 at Holmes Terrace Lodge.
brown hawker 1 at Holmes Terrace Lodge & 1 at Irwell Vale.
blue tailed damselfly 2prs at Holmes Terrace Lodge.
large red damselfly 1 at Calf Hey & 2 at Lee Quarry.
common blue damselfly 1 at Holden Wood.

Glad to see more records after a fortnight of blanks. Good to see Emperor again.
Look out for Common Darters in next week or two, plus other hawkers.

Is the emperor a large green dragonfly? if so there was one by the Irwell opposite the sewage works on Sunday 22/07/07

Sounds likely, Ian. Emperor has green thorax and blue along sides of abdomen with dark line along top of abdomen, so general impression is of green and blue. It's one of the largest hawkers, too.
