A brilliant night with lots of activity right from the word go. I have still lots to identify, but have managed some, thanks in the main to the Townsend/Waring Concise edition. Sorry Ina could not get in touch for this one because Charlie never rang me until 0730 with about 1 1/2 hours notice it was no good sending you a email.... its possible they may all be last minute things like this, if you would still be interested and want to let me have your phone number, I will gladly ring you on the next (or anyone else who maybe interested).. but remember it could be within a hours notice...
Hi Bryan - some nice piccies there. The Common Wainscot looks to me more like Smoky Wainscot (the dark mark down the wing) - see photo at http://ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?bf=2198 and see what you think.
Hi Jim, I really welcome your comments. Not too sure about the Wainscot even at this stage, but again would appreciate your comments again if possible- I have now uploaded several more shots of the Wainscot which may show better light on the identification. These I think are all the same Wainscot, but to be honest with you cant think that the small one is! that must be of a different sort I would think because the trailing wing edges are more swoopy blunt, plus the body protrudes the wings in length etc. see what you think...
