In my trap here in Bolton last night I had 22 moths of 9 species, some of which were the same as we saw last night - including Autumnal Rustic. One interesting one was a Canary Shouldered Thorn which I can't remember having had here before.
Hi Jim, It was great to have you and your Isobel and Ina. Just a shame not much was staring after such a fabulous night a couple before. Anyway we have still hit 3 new species: Square Spot Rustic, Rosy Rustic and Grey Pine Carpet. It really strange how that Pink barred Sallow is so insipid in colour and was smaller than the ones which we were getting on Thursday, though I am sure its still of this species, cos the markings seem to be spot on!
Looks like you had a great night at your trap and what a beauty to get the Canary Shouldered Thorn...
My contribution to the evening. One I have named Poss Grey Pine Carpet, but having read the above messages, I'm now sure!! Thanks for everything.....equipment, knowledge and good company.
