kestrel 4pm 2 stone chat on jackson heigts road, oswladtwistle
crows, black birds, gulls,
last week went to donana national park in spain - in 1 day saw 3/4 marh harriers, red kite, black cite, buzard, egyptian vultures, flamingoe, spoonbills, great egret, little egret, cattle egret, grey heron, purple heron, another smaller heron/bittern - forgot its name. white stork, too name but a few....a world apart....
Bet you had a great time. I do like birding abroad as it gives us the chance to do nothing else. This must be heaven. I have never been to Donana but it is on the to do list. I bet the temps were just right.

well birding abroad is a totally new experience but i have been lucky and bird watched around pakistan and seen white storks in turkey so other than the spoonbil i really did nt see any new birds. i have seen black kites, egyptian vultures, 1 species of flamingo, great egrets, little egrets, cattle egrets, purple herons, egyptian vultures in pakisatn and the rest ie buzzard marsh harrier, grey heron in the uk
i saw load of jays in the alhambra gardens. we missed the 4 hour tour they give people in the donana national park. i really wanted to goon it but we did nt have timer a s by the time we would get back we would miss the last bus. even though i had seen most species before it was still amazing to see them. i wanted to see glossy ibis but they usually were ina different area. i do have some photos of donana but wil be a while before i upload them as it takes me a while to do so. but if you are ever in seville then donana is a must see. i cant believe that its exactly 2 weeks ago since i was there .
If you want a Glossy Ibis Sarfraz, just nip over to Southport. It is only one and I doubt the sun will be shining on it, but is better than nothing until you go off on your travels again. Regards Ina
