Staghills Woods (Trickett's Memorial Park to Lea Bank)
20 herring gull over, 1 black headed gull over, 1 green woodpecker, 1 collared dove, 13 feral pigeon, 24 robin, 2 redwing, 2 song thrush, 1 mistle thrush, 26 blackbird, 27 long tailed tit, 18 blue tit, 12 great tit, 4 coal tit, 2 wren, 7 dunnock, 3 jay, 10 magpie, 1 carrion crow, 3 jackdaw, 40+ siskin, 4 green finch, 9 chaffinch & 5 bullfinch.

Marl Pits  1 wood pigeon, 7 robin, 40+ redwing, 1 mistle thrush, 14 blackbird, 6 long tailed tit, 4 great tit, 14 blue tit, 1 coal tit, 3 wren, 1 dunnock, 3 jay, 2 crrion crow, 6 redpoll, 160+ siskin (possibly over 200), 4 goldfinch & 2 chaffinch.

Edge Cote  8 snipe, 1 peregrine, 4 wood pigeon, 1 meadow pipit, 3 blackbird, 1 wren, 1 jay, 2 magpie & 4 carrion crow.

3 great black backed gulls flew over Waterfoot & 100 siskin flew over Edgeside Park.

I thought you'd probably be the first poster of 2008 - congratulations!

You're getting good numbers of Siskins - can you chase some over to Bolton, I've not seen one for ages.

24 Robins in Staghills!!!

Pretty good New Years Day list, all I had was Mallards and Canadas at Cowm (and 1 male Tufted)
