Crows, Crows and More Crows

Large number of Carrion Crows over Grane 4pm and onwards. I had counted over 100 from Holden Wood to Clough Head - there were lots I had not counted. I am not sure if Rooks were amongst them but those that came nearby in view were all Carrion Crows. They appeared to be playing, yo-yo-ing. There were a few magpies too but keeping a distance from the crows.

Is it me or are there a lot of crows around grane?

Sorry Sarfraz, I forgot to reply to this the other day. There has been a corvid roost in the Grane area for some years. Counts of 200 Carrion Crow are not unusual and are probably underestimates. There are usually Jackdaws too.

oh yeah i did nt think of that. so many corvids around grane at any time of day - i am surprisd any birds manage to fledge there - saw less than 15 corvids in the whole of the dunsop valley today - 6 of them could have been ravens. maybe grane is a corvid friendly place comapred to other places.
