Just had first Skylark returning over Laund at approx 1030hrs heading North. Also had first Meadow Pipit on Monday last again over Laund.

Very early for Skylark, normally I get around the end of February

Cheers,
Bryan.

Hi Bryan.
Interesting early skylark, been out early on holcombe/ashworth moor a couple of mornings but no migrants seen, robins and song thrush singing in garden also a blackbird carrying nesting material, and a blue tit in and out of one of the nest boxes.
I am looking forward to a early spring morning sometime.

Hi Brian, Great to keep reading your reports. I have not had anymore Skylark to press but the Meadow Pipits are now gathering on the side of Top O'th Slate with a party of maybe up to 20 or so yesterday.  Had a butterfly at weekend (mid dark colour and possibly Tortoishell) my brother in law Nigel had a large bumble bee up Musbury on Monday....
Cheers for now,
Bryan.
