The following were recorded between 1st may and 23rd june on 10 walks morning and evening.

canada goose[3 pair 1 with 4 young]
mallard[several pair with young]
goosander[a few male/female no evidance of breeding]
pheasant[3 individuals all males]
cormorant[flying over]
grey heron[several.no breeding]
sparrowhawk[female flying overhead]
kestrel[breeding pair with young]
lapwing[2 breeding pair with young]
blackheaded gull[individuals overhead and on river]
lesser black backed gull[overhead]
herring gull[overhead]
wood pigeon[large numbers bred 20+]
feral pigeon[flock of 10 pair with young]
collard dove[3 pair with young]
tawny owl[2 pair, young heard and seen]
swift[large numbers feeding 40 + non breeding]
great spotted woodpecker[3 pair all with young]
sand martin[maximun 10 feeding on river]
swallow[good numbers,some breeding]
house martin[goods numbers,some breeding]
grey wagtail[3 pair with young]
pied wagtail[5+pair,some young seen]
dipper[2 pair,1 with two young,other pair seem to have lost young]
wren[15+pair with many young]
dunnock[10+pair with young]
robin[difficult to count,estimate 15+pair with young]
blackbird[many pair with young]
song thrush[2 pair,1 pair feeding 3 young]
mistle thrush[4+pair,some young seen]
blackcap[3 pair,definate 2 with young]
chiffchaff[2 pair,no young seen]
willow warbler[possible 8+ pair with young,1 pair behind house with 4 young
wood warbler[2 individuals displaying,10th to 22nd may,none since]
goldcrest[1 individual mid may,none since]
spotted flycatcher[1 feeding same place last three days]
longtailed tit[10+pair,large family parties very visible]
coal tit[only 3 definate pair,1 pair with young in garden]
blue tit[12+pair with young,3 nest boxes used]
great tit [15+pair,1 in nest box fledged 7 young]
nuthatch[indivduals seen,no nest site found]
jay[several seen,last years nest site not used,no young seen]
magpie[3+pair,nest site opposite house,3 young fledged]
jackdaw[several pair,1 pair in chimney with 3 young]
rook[6/7 nests,not sure how many young survived the winds]
crow[individuals flying,no nests seen]
starling[several in fields,1 nest with young seen]
house sparrow[3/4 pair around georgia pacific,just rossendale ?]
chaffinch[5+pair with young]
greenfinch[individuals about no young seen]
goldfinch[no nest sites seen,some birds seen feeding]
bullfinch[4+pair,some young seen this week] 

notable absentees~~~kingfisher~sedge warbler~grasshopper warbler~tree creeper.
