15:00hrs - low cloud and drizzle

Car park - 2 Willow Warbler + 1 juv. Robin

On the water - 1 B.H.Gull, 3 Mallard + 1 Stonechat on wall.

Plantings off Limy lane - 3 juv.Swallow being fed by adults, 5 Goldfinch, 3 Blue Tit, 2 Grt Tit, min. of 3 Meadow Pipit, 1 Chaffinch, 2 Willow Warbler, 1 Whinchat, min.of 14 Stonechat and 1 very aggressive Willow warbler chasing chats.

East Bank - 1 Skylark flushed from cover, 1 Meadow pipit, 2 Stonechat.

South bank - 2 Stonechat on walls + 4 Pied Wagtail.

Impressive numbers of Stonechat, with 5 males counted with attendant juvs or females. It would appear that the family groups have yet to split up.

Yes, your Stonechat numbers are very good. They must have benefitted or at least not been adversely affected by the wet summer.

Good news, by the way - I'm moving to work in the branch library at Harwood from next week. I'll finish at 5.30 on Mondays, so I should be able to get to meetings once again. Hooray!
