Wintry conditions but a nice walk seeing:-Cormorant,40 Mallard,3 Tufted Duck, Female Goldeneye(Been around almost a week),20 BH Gull,2 Common Gull,12 Goldfinch,2 Rooks, 10 C Crow,3 Magpie, 4 Wood Pigeon.Our flock of 90 Canada Geese had a new addition in the form of the Brent Goose up to last weekend,but, I have not seen the bird this weekend.Has been seen in the fields above the res to the east and seen in flight,fully winged,no rings and not "coming to bread".Brent Geese are not flighty birds anyway.This bird is probably the one originally of Elton Res,Bury fame and latterly,Ashworth Moor Reservoir.
