11:30-12:30 Heron, 1 perched in tree over river, Mallard, c20, 8 of which were on the filter beds, Goosander, a pair and single male on the river, Lapwing, 28 in pasture towards Holcombe road, L.B.B.Gull, c6 south, Herring Gull, c12 south, B.H.Gull, c20 south, Stock Dove, 2 near Alderbottom, Dipper, 1 swimming in river, G.S.Woodpecker, 3, Pied Wagtial, just 3 on filter beds, Meadow Pipit, 2 on filter beds, Redwing, c20, Fieldfare, 2, Jackdaw, c30 on filter beds, Starling, c40 feeding with Lapwings in pasture, Goldfinch, 3, Regards, Sarah Nuttall with Peter Fyldes, John Hallsworth and Dad.
Hi Brian, They flew from trees on the old railway lines at Alderbottom viaduct and into the trees at the large house adjacent to the viaduct (Alderbottom Farm / House?). Regards, David.
