Herring Gull, c30 north up the valley in flocks up to 14, B.H.Gull, c50 on filter beds, Stock Dove, pair at Alderbottom, Wood Pigeon, 14 at E.B.S.W + 6 Irwell Vale, Collared Dove, c12 in Irwell Vale calling constantly, Kingfisher, 1 flew up the Ogden off the Irwell, Green Woodpcker, 2 yaffling well at Lumb Vale and Strongstry, G.S.Woodpecker, 4 inc two chasing round for ten minutes in Chat Wood, Grey Wagtail, 1 at confluence of Ogden / Irwell, Pied Wagtail, c40 on filter beds, Dipper, 3 singing birds, Dunnock, c10 mainly in full song, Song Thrush, 1, Mistle Thrush, 2 singles, Redwing, 60 in sheep pasture at Strongstry, Blackbird, c12 in 1's and 2's, Blue, Great and Coal Tit in good numbers and singing well, Long Tailed Tit, c3 pairs, Nuthatch, singing birds at Strongstry and Lumb Vale, Goldcrest, 1 at E.B.S.W. I must have been following you about this morning,i saw most of your list,but i missed the Kingfisher,Dippers are very active near my house,they were singing to each other early morning. I was watching two Green woodpeckers in the field above the viaduct around 1015 and they were very vocal,they have been here a while now, maybe they will breed. I can add a Sparrowhawk above Buckden woods around 1130. The most numerous finch on the feeders this winter is Bullfinch by a long way,i have counted 10 +, the Nuthatch numbers are very good too.
