Holden Wood Res
1 Great-crested Grebe, 14 Canada geese, 12 Mallard, 1 Grey Heron, 10 Lapwing, several Meadow Pipits, 1 Swallow

Ogden Res - Nil

Calf hey - no wildfowl but 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker several Goldcrest singing

Ashworth Moor Res
6 Canada Geese, 1 Pied Wagtail

Noce to see Jim and Bertha Rostron at Holden Wood.

late posting
went o holden wood about 5pm sunday 19 april

21 canda geese
7 min mallards
14 min lapwings - 9 min in field near road, 5 on other side of the reservoir
1-2 grey heron
1 curlew heard
an un id-able warbler

on the tops - 3 wheater
2 pied wagtails
2 lapwings - standing around watching carrion crows forage - hope they did not have nest raided
2 curlew heard not seen
min 3 pheasants heard

large numbers of meadow pipit, carrion crows, some woodpigeons, stonechat,

1 lapwing sighted monday 1pm before holcombe, in rossendale
