Question about a blue tit nest?

Hi
I just wanted to ask a question about blue tits that had been using the nest box in my garden, I have seen them going in and out since March and recently when I put out cat fur they were busy going in and out with beak-fulls.  I have seen no activity from the nest box since Saturday, I am not watching 24/7 but have spent a fair amount of time in my lounge and kitchen where I normally glance out and see them going in and out.   I know its only been five days since I last saw them, is it likely that they have decided to now go elsewhere?  Is this normal for blue tits to take things into a nest box then decide not to use it?  According to the previous owner of my house the blue tits have been nesting in the box for many years.
Thanks,
Eeanor.

Hi
I would not worry to much at this point as when the clutch has been finalised the Blue Tits (female) can spend many hours inside the box incubating them so I would not recommend checking the box at the moment as they might put them off.

The Male can be very secretive also around this time as not to attract any predators to the nest. I bet you will soon see them again as they start to feed the many mouths!

Hi
Thanks for your reply Ste, I would not have looked inside the box, I was just thinking they have now decided to go elsewhere, but hopefully I will see them again soon, I will keep you posted!
Thanks
Eleanor

A few days after I first asked about whether the blue tits could have gone elsewhere, there was lots of activity at the nest box and there still is !!
