Almost managed to beat the weather but the wind and rain came in towrads the end of the walk.
G.C.Grebe, 1 on Holden Wood Res,
Cormorant, 1 preening on the side of Ogden Res,
Grey Heron, 3 singles,
Canada Goose, 22 on Holden Wood and around and 2 on Calf Hey,
Mallard, c11 on Holden Wood,
Pheasant, 2 calling,
Lapwing, 1 at Holden Wood,
B.H.Gull, c40 mainly on Holden Wood & Calf Hey,
L.B.B.Gull, 3 over,
Stock Dove, flock of 4 & 2 singles,
Wood Pigeon, c60 in small flocks,
Swift, c20 over Holden Wood,
Green Woodpecker, 1 yaffling and showing briefly at Calf Hey and another in Heap Clough,
Skylark, just 1 called on Haslingden Moor,
Sand Martin, 2 at Holden Wood,
Swallow, c50, mainly at Holden Wood,
Pied Wagtail, c12, manily at Holden Wood,
Grey Wagtail, 2,
Mistle Thrush, 1,
Willow Warbler, small numbers calling at Holden Wood and Calf Hey,
Coal Tit, c6,
L.T.Tit, one flock of c12,
Jay, 2 calling at Clough Head,
Chaffinch, Greenfinch and Goldfinch in small numbers,
Linnet, flock of 4 & 2 singles.

Yesterday we had
~50 Lapwings at Holden Wood
2 Young Green Woodpeckers at Troy Quarry
1 Willow Warbler Troy
1 Cormorant Calf Hey
Good number of Swifts and Swallows
Pair Stonechat on Scrubber
4 Wheatears (2Y)
