Peter, Was the Whitethroat in a particular area around the reservoir? Glad you saw the Crossbills,had a sighting myself a while back only too be replaced by a sighting of 2 Bullfinch in the same area a day later! Regards, Dave Ousey.
The whitethroat was on the far side of the res from the car park, just before the plantation where the crossbills were seen on the top side of the rushy field.
