Couldnt make the first two hours this morning, but did go up to Hutton Roof from 0900hrs and birds where still coming through pretty regular (Thrushes every 10minutes, but in small parties - and struggling with strong winds). Obviously missed the great Starling rush, first thing. But birds still going through on leaving. No good for passerines today.

Hi Gary (Garry Hibbard at Hunstanton with a Starling count yesterday of 59,921), it was great to hear of your sensational day, it must have been superb.
It was really interesting to hear of your great Starling rush first thing. This is what I have been getting here! yet in far smaller numbers. I wasnt sure whether or not I was hitting a roost, but after reading your notes, its probably a early morning passage build up like you are getting.. There certainly was no roosting birds or this sort of early large 500 plus parties before, its only been happening over the past week, and they are coming through on the normal routing as birds coming through later in the morning.
