at  12 noon

over 30 B H Gulls and over 10 Carrion Crows.   all fighting over the brown bread i was throwing onto the ice.   a grey heron present and flew over but would not come close.   it must have been very hungry to fly from the top end to where the bench is.  it and the crows were attracted by the  gulls.

3 goosanders (2 male) flew northwards then after 5 minutes another lfew southwards.

1 juvenile large gull  which i  presume to have been a herring gull or any other but not a lesser-black backed gull as it did not appear dark enough.  i did not have any bins to pick up anything else even though the gull flew very close past heading southwards.   could have even been a yellow-legged or other "unusual" large larus gull.

i put up a feeder near the entarnce to the reservoir in one of the small trees, not sure what species it is.  it might be fairly eays to see and full of bird seed.   if anyone heads down there can you have a look to see if its in the best possible place for birds.    if not then do it it to a better place and do let me know where that place is.
