Had a Cuckoo calling on Tuesday from behind woodland area Kelsick Scar (Waterhead, Ambleside area), then also had another on Wednesday at Hutton Roof, which I watched being mobbed by individual Meadow Pipits.. It was really great to at long last see Cuckoo, it must be now some 15 years since I used to watch them up Grane when we were fortunate to have about 5 pairs within the Grane/Alden and Musbury valleys. What a shame!! what happened to them ?, whatever the problem must have been in Africa... anyway there up here OK thats for sure.... Also 3 pairs of Tree Pipits on Hutton Roof. A pair Garden Warblers at Dalton Crags along with Blackcaps etc.
