Lots of Swallows and Martins at Broadclough, Bacup.

A few hundred Swallows and Martins are flying over the ponds at Broadclough of an evening recently. Quite a sight.

Rough estimate of c800-1000 Swallows going to roost in the Bullrush filtration bed at the Minewater cleaning plant. Also c40-50 Pied wags roosting there also. smile

Tues 7th Sept, c1500 swallows roosting with numbers growing to c2000+ on
Wed 8th Sept. Only c10-15 Pied Wags.
Very late Swift seen on 7th Sept flocking up with Swallows. 
3+ Yellow wags and 3 Tree Pipits over to south.
Male and Female Sparrowhawk visiting !!.
300+ Swallows and 2 Sand Martins caught and ringed so far..

Hi Ste, Yes its working to perfection thankyou,  pulling them in really well..
Brilliant day at Spurn yesterday aswell, with c20,000 Swallows going south
thro there between 8am-5pm, never seen anything quite like it.
I started seeing them in my sleep last night.
