i noticed a flock of about 30 possibly more smaller birds flying around Grane - they appeared smallish finches flying close together. looked fairly lightish in colour - not dark. could have been goldfinch, linnet or one of those migrant buntings/finches .....
they were to the side of the highest point of grane road and apeared to have flown up from the ground...no bushes or trees up there....so it must have been a ground or grass loving bird.....any ideas what they could be? i have not seen many small birds up there recently as i drive up and down.
