Hi Ina,

I have been logging all the kingfisher sightings in the hope of a breeding pair taking up residence next spring,i would appreciate knowing where you saw it and was it flying or perched.
Three cormorant is a concern as the trout in the river have recovered well this year after a drop in numbers last year.

Regards Brian.

Hi Brian

Kingfisher was perched on the river bend in the horse field, then flew off up river.
Dipper & fox in the same place.

I've seen Cormorant up as far as Rawtenstall over the past couple of weeks, regularly see one or two as I go up & down the bypass. They may just be using the river as a 'bypass' themselves as they fly between res's/roosts.

Hi Ina,

Thanks for Kingfisher info, there were two today very visible in the bright sunsine mainly down by the viaduct,i am begining to build a pattern of there movements and will hopefully be able to photograph them soon.
No cormorants today, hope your right and they are not taking to many fish.

Thanks again smile
