Hi Bryan, Out this morning (and yesterday) with nets up for Redwing and Fieldfare and also noticed huge Wood Pigeon movement, especially this morning, with big flocks NW over here. Didn`t count but we were "very aware" of 50-100`s going over NW, quite high aswell. Quieter for thrushes, but still steady big flocks moving.
Mainly Fieldfare but some Redwing mixed in. Starlings also for first time here.
20+ Blackbirds fell out of the sky, with Redwing, in first glimmer of light to Redwing lure, only one went into the nets, and it was one we ringed yesterday morning!!!
Typical.
Best wishes, Craig.
