Cormorant, 2 on Ogden, singles on Calf Hey & Holden Wood,
Pink Footed Goose, skein of 120 flew east at 08:30
Mallard, c130 on Calf Hey, 21 on Holden Wood,
Teal, 14 on Holden Wood, then flew up the valley so probably off Holden Wood, and at least 9 on Calf Hey. Most likely the same birds involved.
Sparrowhawk, 2 singles,
Kestrel, 2 singles,
Snipe, just 1 flushed off the tops,
B.H.Gull, c20, mainly on Calf hey,
L.B.B.Gull, c15 soaring over Haslingden,
G.S.Woodpecker, 2 singles,
Green Woodpecker, yaffled twice in Heap Clough,
Skylark, 1 on Haslingden Moor,
Meadow Pipit, 4 on Haslingden Moor,
Pied Wagtail,2,
Grey Wagtail, 3 singles,
Redwing, c200 feeding in hedges,
Fieldfare, c200 feeding in hedges,
Mistle Thrush, 2 at Calf Hey,
L.T.Tit, c4 flocks,
Coal Tit, c8,
Goldcrest, 2,
Raven, 2 pairs along the side of Ogden, calling often and tumbling!
Starling, flock of c40 through west,
Chaff, Green and Gd and Bullfinch all in small numbers,
Siskin, 2 at Clough Head,
