Cowpe Res 1 redhead goosander, 10 long tailed tit, 2 goldcrest and circa 60 goldfinch flying in to roost in conifers circa 300 gulls on res at 15:45 as follows great black backed gull - 1 herring gull - 30 approx lesser black back gull - 20 approx common gull - 125 approx black headed gull - 125 approx The gulls looked set to stay and roost but some started flying off at about 15:50. Some returned and again settled as though they were going to stay. When I left at 16:05 most of the larger gulls were still present and perhaps half of the black headed and common gulls. As I walked down through Cowpe village 50 larger gulls flew down the valley, presumably to go and roost elsewhere.
