Dotterel, a group of 4 flew in, calling, and landed approx, 60 yards from me. There were 3 females and one duller male. They only stayed c5 minutes before flying off in the direction of Hameldon.
Snipe, 1 flushed & 1 calling,
Lapwing, c6 pairs, one pair with very young chicks,
Curlew, 2 pairs,
Oystercatcher, 2 singles,
B.H.Gull, c12,
L.B.B.Gull, c8 east,
Stock Dove, 1,
Wood Pigeon, c12,
Green Woodpecker, 1 yaffling regularly,
Skylark, c20,
Swallow, 2,
Whinchat, female above Troy,
Wheatear, c6,
Mistle Thrush, 1 singing,
Willow Warbler, c12,
Goldfinch, c12 in small groups.

Great to read your reports.
Dotterel have shown on the highest fells from reading reports on Lancaster, but not that many. Ospreys still coming through, most Warblers in now, still waiting for Pied Fly, Spott Fly. Massive Tern passage mainly Arctic (4000 plus) over the past 3/4 days seen coming in at Heysham and leaving to the North East, very high altitude very quickly and unless you catch them at source you've very little chance. My first Swifts yesterday.
Visited Grt. Hameldon 2/5/11 all to no avail, no Dots but a fierce E. wind blowing.
A reeling Grasshopper Warbler amongst wet rushes and young willows was a real surprise along the track.
Noticed the idiots have been playing with matches on the moors again, big fires off Rooley Moor rd, and what looked like Edge Cote yesterday, Black Moss was burned off some days ago.
