09:30hrs approx Circular tour as far as Compstons Cross 1 Collared Dove in carpark + lots of H.Sparrows Min 4 Reed Bunting Pr Curlew on territory with poss yng + others heard 1 Grey Partridge 1pr Stonechat c20 Swift 1 Sand Martin 2 Swallows 1pr Canada Geese 3pr Linnet Min 8 Redpoll spread all over plantings - probably a fraction of total population, males were feeding on willow catkins at one site. 2 Blackcap in song + many Willow Warblers C1000 Starlings nr Wagonners pub 1 Kestrel 1pr Pied Wagtail + 3yng 1 Tawny Owl 2 B.H.Gull Usual numbers of Chaffinch, Wren, Robin, Meadow Pipit, Skylark. Notable abscence of Common Sandpiper. Remains of W. Pigeon on res banking, wasn't there on the way round,breast completely eaten. & no head on the carcass. Bob.
