Unfortuneatly it appears the downstream pairs nest has been predated around the 14th day after laying, i have checked a before and after photograph and the front of the nest has been pulled downwards, possibly Rat or Heron.

Both Rob and I have checked the site today and there is no sign of the adults, it is not uncommon for them to have two broods so maybe they will turn up somewhere else.

The upstream pair are doing fine and have 3 or4 young which should fledge sometime next week.
