20 Carrion Crow, large flock 30+ Meadow Pipit,5 Wheatear, good news for Steve Rush smilefound his "missing" Kestrels with 4 birds in the area all in the sky at once!, 4 Magpie,10 Swallow,2 Reed Bunting.

Hi Dave
Good do....have you noted less Kestrel yourself? What about others around the valley....anybody else note a lack of? Hate to say it Dave but those little flocks have a sense of Autumn about em'.

Those little flocks are scary indeed as it indicates summer is finishing and right now as I type the window is howling like November. I am not a big fan of autumn and winter. I have seen less Kestrels ad Sparrowhawks this year. I do look out for Kestrels as they are an Amber list species.

Kestrels are not at their most numerous in the Cowm/Whitworth area anyway,never guaranteed to see one every trip.Possibly the pair that used to frequent our area have perished in the cold winter?
