Big passage of Swallows along quite a broad front involving 300+ birds over 1 1/2 hrs, mainly on a S. to S.E. heading.
3 parties of Swifts moving through 2+6+9 birds
7 Meadow Pipits
1 Chaffinch
4 Wheatears close by on walls
1 House Martin
Back at the res. a juv. Peregrine attempted to take a Mallard off the water - no luck due to the duck taking evasive action under the water. Peregrine then mobbed by Swallows.
c12 Linnet along the shoreline with 3 Pied Wagtails.

c30 Swifts at Clowbridge res. at 20:20hrs then 9 left at dusk.
1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling in very short bursts
2 Stonechat.

Hi Sarfraz, its probable that it might have gone, these birds don't tend to linger. But don't let that put you off. Go from the boathouse and into the S. bay then along the field side. Good luck.
The male Common Scoter was still present at 5-50pm tonight and was showing really well in the middle of the reservoir. A single Swift was seen whilst going through Bacup en route to Clowbridge! Regards, Dave Ousey.
