there was a swift in haslingden that flew into a roof top 2 days go.......is it late for swifts to still be feeding young?

i saw some pink footed geese today over barnoldswick.......welcome autumn!

Yes it's late for Swifts. Would it be more appropriate to wonder if they are roosting checking roosting sites?

i have actually seen a swift fly into this spot before and that during the mid-day. i would love to stand outside for half an hour observing the to see if they are going in and out but the family that live in it are troubled and cause trouble. one of the windows has been smashed. i do know the family and keep my distance.

some house martins are still nesting around the area.

I can tell you that Swifts do roost in holes although I am not saying some may stay on the wing.

would it want to roost so late in the season? the only thing that could hold them back now would be young? i wish i could stand out side the hosue for prolonged periods but would lead to public disorder i am sure. still few swifts around even with young on some nest cams. are they late this year?
