Hi Ste, I can tell you this, them Thrushes when going over HR, sometimes odd ones start flapping and then cannot resist and do a nosedive, followed by the others.  Yes what it is we produce such good berries, they just cannot resist.

Dont know about the winter, but there certainly coming in early, and when have you known Fieldfare to come in before the Redwing.  Tell ya the worlds going crazy.....

Get out there and start counting...

Best Bryan.

Hi Craig,

Funny that, but believe it or not thats how most folk found it yesterday. But not us at HR and also Winter Hill did well yesterday, but the lads who did really well a couple of days ago (same day as yours), they did around the 17000 mark did hardly anything yesterday maybe the odd 1000 or 1500, though we did pretty well. And another interesting thing is yesterday at Caldale Fields (South Bradford) had over 20000 going SE, what happened there was the rain brought them straight down and straight away the rain cleared and they ascended to great heights and folk missed them....

Catch up soon,

Bryan.

Hi Bryan

I am out counting but in a different country! It's Blackcap that are here by the thousands at present. I have never seen so many in one tree let alone country!

I have to come clean and say I hope I have not missed the Thrush fest this year. I do love that spectacle.

Thanks for the continued updates

Hi Ste,  Now thinking about it, you did mention it before.

The good news is, no you have not missed them, the main bunch has to come through on Thursday Friday of this week, well I hope so!  though I think we have all missed the Redwing, the first main batch (which we normally get), could not get through because of the blocking weather a few days ago and they went straight down through Norway and the Netherlands with minimum filter to UK (this has never happened for many a year)

But the Fieldfares still have to come, though you have missed the first batch, I think you maybe in for a treat very soon..... hope so!

Bryan.
