It's OK. Good thing is that if you get bored of it the birding is very good as your entrance fee covers the admission in to the reserve. It has got better over the years with more and more people exhibiting. Some of the "local" stalls mostly about wildlife in Liverpool are actually very good with plenty on info and places you never knew existed.
Well worth a look and the cafe is great!
What are you looking for as regards what you would like to see.

Well I was planning to go to Martin Mere this Sunday and wanted to see how it looked like in late autumn. I have been in winter, spring and summer. Birds that I want to see would include the White Fronted Geese that keep turning up and anything else more skilled birdwatchers might pick up. Jack Snipe and Woodcock will be welcome additions to my "life" list.
Hi Sarfraz, I would be more inclined to drive past M Mere straight to Marshside/ Hesketh Out Marsh tomorrow dinnertime for the big tides and a very large selection of Waders/Geese/ Ducks and Raptors you are gauranteed to see especially with the sea pushing everything right inland. Been excellent there for the past 3 weekends as we have been. Park at the sand quarry and ENJOY! We`ll be there and if i remember correctly, the bird club have a trip there tomorrow aswell if its still on.
Decent bird seen last few visits - 4 Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier, Merlin, lots of Peregrine, Grt White Egret, c20 Little Egrets, Avocet, Spot Redshank, (G W Teal, Lapland Bunt, missed by us!), 1000`s Pinkfeet, 1000`s mixed waders, super birding and local.
Good luck if you go.
Craig.

I did go to the Birdfair at Martin Mere. Quite a productive day. Started with getting my first ever White-fronted Geese. It was nice to get a tick after 2 months. Then the usual suspects of which the most exciting birds I saw were Treecreeper and Merlin. I did go to the David Lindo talk and it was good to listen to. Then went around the stalls - which I nearly forgot. I should have taken some of my friends now when I think about it.
Hi Sarfraz, Fantastic day at Marshside. No Harriers on Sunday but everything else in massive numbers. Superb birding in brilliant conditions - excellent light and big tide to push the birds right in up close to us..
