Three teams, 2x2 people and 1x3 took part and recorded 65 species in total which is the highest count ever. (Guys, Buzzard wasn't on my records list as never seen before this year!)

The individual team scores were:

Team A = 55 specieds.

Team B = 51 species.

Team C = 55 species.

Buzzard was a new winter birdrace sighting for Rossendale and other notable species seen were as follows:

Dabchick, 1 was feeding on The Irwell near Alderbottom and only the second winter birdrace record,

Mute Swan, 3 at Wall Bank Lodge,

Pink Footed Goose, at least 4 skeins over probably involved close to 1,000 birds!

Teal, 2 on Calf Hey,

Tufted Duck, 1 on Clowbridge and 20+ on Cowm Res,

Buzzard, 1 near Strongstry,

Sparrowhawk, just 1 at Grane,

Peregrine, 1,

Golden Plover, 11 on Haslingden Moor,

Lapwing, c50 near Alderbottom,

Stock Dove, sveral sightings,

Little Owl, 1 at Spring Mill,

Kingfisher, 1 on The Irwell at Irwell Vale and 1 on Lench Lodges,

Green Woodpecker, 1 at Warth and 1 in Staghills Woods,

Grey Wagtail, 1 on The Irwell at Ewood Bridge + 1 other,

Stonechat, pair at Clowbridge Res,

Nuthatch, 4 locations inc Stubbylee Park,

Treecreeper, 1 in Staghills Woods,

Raven, pair over Jack Lodge, 3 over Holden Wood and pair at Bacup.

Redpoll, 2 at BK's feeders in Strongstry + sighting at Grane.
