With all the recent re-introduction programmes, Harewood in Yorkshire being not too far away as the Kite flies, it was only a matter of time. Did Steve not have a sighting in Whitworth a couple of years ago.

I have not seen it myself but two different sources "think" they have seen a single bird in the Musbury/Alden Ratchers area recently.

Funny, as working where I do I get lot's of reports of Red Kites being seen mostly over Crown Point way....that tells you something of the clientel!

They most probably are about if only for brief periods. I have not really come up with a valid reason as to why they are not here apart from the fact that on the whole they are initially very sedentary in nature.

Tony, I think you may referring to the Marsh Harrier over Cowm res? I have never seen Red Kites in the valley....so far.

Dave, I wont get chance myself this weekend as a lot of eating and drinking is scheduled....somebody has to do it! You will have to ask your lovely daughter for special dispensation to travel......
