A kind gentlemen sent a photo to my web site email today of a waxwing today at Calf Hey.

If anybody is up there it may be worth checking this out. In the pic it looks like Viburum Opulus (guelder rose)

Waxwing

Oh dear! I am going to Rothwerham tomorrow! Any idea where this photo could have been taken around Calf hey? I hope that Waxwing does not finish off all the berries! I will not be able to check out till Monday sadly. I might do a very early visit tomorrow morning but....I would not want to get blocked by any parades.

Didn't know about the Waxwing and didn't see any when we went round, in fact it was very quiet on the birding front - loads of people and dogs though!

4 Raven tumbling and calling (worth going just for that)
1 M Kestrel
1 F Goldeneye
1 Magpie (must be bad when I'm counting these)
1 Siskin over

That's your lot folks!

Cheers
Ian

went today to Calf hey from 3-4pm and 4 Mallard, plenty of BH Gulls, maybe some larger gulls going over, a couple of Wrens around - one singing, 2 Ravens - tumbling, a Pied Wagtail heard, couple of Meadow Pipits, a flock of small finches - not sure if goldfinch or siskin, a very small bird in flight which i thought was a moth /insect but must have been a goldcrest, some long-tailed tits

no waxwings of course!
