2.30-5.15pm

One highlight right at the end of the day.....read on to find out what it is...

Holden Wood Res:-

33 Mallard,

4 Teal

1 Grey Heron

1 Lapwing

3 Pied Wagtails

30 plus BH Gulls

3 Common Gulls with the above

good numbers of Carrion Crows and Magpies - most birds barring the 2 duck species were on the shorline so it was looking a bit crowded!

Wren - in the rushes

On the tops between Holden Wood and Calf Hey:-

3 birds flew over with distinct call ....I had a feeling they could hav been Snow Bunting...sounded unlike a Meadow Pipit.....did not get a good enough view.....it was in the area bove the old railway line...

the tops above Calf Hey a Wren!

female Merlin

Red Grouse

Fairy Glen:-

Blue Tits calling

Great tits

a GS Woodpecker calling

towards the end 60 plus Crows heading that way to roost

Calf Hey:-

5 Teal

Grey heron over

2-3 Mallard on

BH Gulls heading to Fishmoor

Ogden:-

9 Meadow Pipits with some flying onto the tops

1 Wren

1 Cormorant

6 Mallard

Back onto Holden Wood and only the Mallard to be seen.  On the Path just out of the reservoir i managed to see a Rabbit!   Something I have not seen here for a very long while!  That was the highlight!   Not toforget Wren in the rushes below the farm and some Blackbirds getting ready to roost!
