Just had a hour to spare so nipped down to see if any sign of Bob's Bittern but alas no luck!

A good spring morning however with lots of song and the following noted:

Cormorant, one perched in tree over Irwell,

Mallard, c6 on the Irwell,

Moorhen, 1 on the banks of the Irwell,

B.H.Gull, c20 on the beds,

Stock Dove, pair,

Collared Dove, 3,

Wood Pigeon, c6,

Green Woodpecker, 1 yaffled twice,

Dipper, 1 calling,

Dunnock, at least 4 singing birds,

Song Thrush, at least 3 singing birds,

L.T.Tit, pair,

Coal Tit, 1,

Great Tit, c4 singing birds,

Nuthatch, 2 singing birds,

Starling, c6,

House Sparrow, c6,

Bullfinch, 1 female,

Greenfinch, 1 singing,

Goldfinch, pair,

Chaffinch c4

Hi David,

Did the same thing, must have been about 30 mins behind you, have to agree it is a lovely morning with plenty of song.

Can add to your list only the following,

Visual of Green Woodpecker.

Kingfisher at Alderbottom.

Nuthatch in and out of an old nest hole.
