Sunny, 9 degrees, 0800hrs to 1030hrs. 

Blue Tit, many in song and nesting.

Great Tit, as above.

Coal Tit, two pair.

Long-tailed Tit, one pair with nesting material.

Chaffinch, at least 12, numbers still higher than normal.

BullFinch, still the commonest finch here.

GoldFinch, only two, at the feeders 

Blackcap, one pair in song near an old nest site.

Robin, several in song.

Wren, good numbers nesting.

Dunnock, 2/3 pair.

Nuthatch, five birds feeding.

Treecreeper, two pair.

Song Thrush, two pair one carrying lambs wool.

Mistle Thrush, one

Blackbird, everywhere.

Great Spotted Woodpecker, four.

Collard Dove, one pair.

Woodpigeon, lots

Green Woodpecker, one calling not seen.

Magpie, one pair.

Jackdaw, several, one pair nesting in next doors chimney.

Crows and Rooks in the fields.

Rookery at St Johns Shuttleworth has 25+ nests.

Jay, five.

Kingfisher, one flying down the river.

Dipper, only one pair.

Goosander, three pair.

Pied Wagtail, one on the river bank.

Buzzard, one over Irwell Vale, all primaries intact.

Mallard, several pair on the river.
