Hi Ste,

Interesting how numbers change quickly as I visited EBSW on my way home from work at 18:45 and there were:

Swallow, c60 feeding over the beds,

Sand Martin, c6,

House Martin, 1.

The wet front that came through may have moved the birds on with it?!

Regards,

David.

Hi David

Yes it dropped in temp, light and winds increased as we arrived and then within an hour it was raining. Sarfraz was already there when we arrived and also had some Swallows. Our single Swallow was on the edge of dark as it quickly flitted away.

Good to hear the Willow Warbler song though.

I must have arrived 20 minutes before the rest of you and saw 9 minimum. They left some minutes before the rest arrived. There were 7 Mallard , 4 had flown off. Another pair in the air, 2 on the river.

2 Goosander in the air.

Pied Wagtails at least 15?
a few Meadow Pipits.
I think Ian saw 3 redwings?
Carrion Crow in excess of 8. The place was covered in them but they also moved out of view before you arrived.

Last year we had Chiffchaff and Blackcap, maybe Grey Wagtail?
