Dabchick, 1 quarry

Cormorant, 1 feeding in Holden Wood,

Grey Heron, 1 feeding in quarry,

Canada Goose, c30 in small flocks or singles,

Mallard, c12,

Kestrel, female perched on a post and male flying down Grane,

Pheasant, calling distantly,

Moorhen, 1 in quarry,

Common Sandpiper, 1 in quarry,

Snipe 1 "chipping" on Thirteen Stone Hill,

Lapwing, 2 displaying on Haslingden Moor & 4 at Holden Wood,

Curlew, c4 calling birds,

L.B.B.Gull, c100 over north or west,

B.H.Gull, c10,

Wood Pigeon, c40 in flocks up to a dozen,

Skylark, c30, good numbers up there, many singing,

Swallow, c30 with up to 10 chasing around in a loose flock,

Meadow Pipit, c20,

Pied Wagtail, 1,

Wheatear, 5,

Mistle Thrush, 1 feeding on pasture & 1 singing,

Song Thrush, 1 singing,

Willow Warbler, c15 singing,

Coal Tit, 2 in Heap Clough,

Raven, group of 3,

Chaffinch, c10 singing males,

Greenfinch, 4 feeding on pasture!

Goldfinch, c4,

Siskin, 1 flew down Grane,

Reed Bunting, 1 in quarry!
