2-4pm

Around the visitor centre at clough head - robins in song, great tits, coal tits, blue tits, chaffinches, and  great spotted wood pecker

on the moor  - 2 snipe, 1 skylark, 2 ravens - both flying not too high and one making very strange noises, a female Merlin, good numbers of meadow pipits

40 plus goldfinches feeding on thistles on the path up,

 

around the deep clough area - 1 kestrel, 1 wren, at least 30 linnet flock , 20 goldfinches  min around here, plenty of meadow pipits, a peregrine which appeared to have a very aggressive go at the kestrel,

 

a pied wagtail on jamestone's

at least 20 small tortoiseshells with 1 sunning itself o n walls of visitor centre and others in thistles mainly
