Grey Heron, 1 on res bank,

Mallard, 23 flew down the alley & 4 on the Limy,

Pochard, 2 males & 1 female,

Goosander, 11 Redheads,

Kestrel, 1 male,

B.H.Gull, 3,

Little Owl, 1 on dry stone wall towards weather station,

G.S.Woodpecker, 1 flew north up the valley,

Meadow Pipit, c30 through south,

Pied Wagtail, c8 on res bank,

Grey Wagtail, 2 lots of 2 south and 1 on res bank,

Redwing, flocks of 2 & 3 west,

Chiffchaff, 1 singing in car park,

LT.Tit, at least 1 in tit flock,

Goldfinch, c70 inc a charm of c50 near boathouse,

Reed Bunting, 3 calling birds,

Is early morning the best time to see the Little owl ?

Hi Craggy,

I'd say early morning sunshine is the best time to see them but to be fair they are usually sat on this wall or fence post somewhere whatever time of the day.
