AMR Gull Roost.

Sat 28th Dec 2013.

Good numbers of Gulls roosting on AMR for the last few weeks. (re R Archer). And in particular very good numbers of Grt Blk Bkd Gulls and B H Gulls. Every chance of a decent Gull turning up amongst them through the winter.. ie. Iceland, Glaucous or Med Gulls.

Tonight`s roost at last light had:-

G B B Gull - 227 Ad and 70 (min) Juv`s.  Never seen a roost containing so many of this species!

Herring Gull - 100+.

L B B Gull - 30ish.

Common Gull - 100+ min.

B H Gull - 1200+ min.

Also present -

53 Goosander (12 males). 50+ Lapwing, 1 M Pipit, 1 Short Eared Owl hunting to west of res dam banking.

Hi Craig

Had a look up today 29-12-2013 to early for the roosting

6 Mallard 3m-3f

1 Kestrel

40 mix of Gull

5  Goosander

1 Wren

15 Lapwing

1 Pied Wagtail

On my way back on the right just before Bleak Holt Road 500 + B H Gull in field

Sat 4th Jan 2014.

G B B Gull - 150+. Same number left N before dark with a mix of the other Gull sp.

Herring Gull - 150+.

Common Gull - 200+.

L B B Gull - 50+. 

B H Gull - 1500+.

Also - Goosander 25+ (13 males).
