Red Grouse, a pair on the tops were the first for a while,
Grey Partridge, a pair on the side of Ogden were my first for ages,
Pheasant, 1 calling near Holden Wood,
Moorhen, pair at the top end of Holden Wood,
Coot, 1 at the top end of Holden Wood,
Golden Plover, 3 pairs & a flock of 17 on Haslingden Moor,,
Lapwing, 11 at Holden Wood,
Curlew, calling birds,
Jack Snipe, 1 on Haslingden Moor,
B.H.Gull, c30 on or around Holden Wood plus 3 in the quarry,
Herring Gull, c50 through west,
Wood Pigeon, c60 through east in two flocks,
G.S.Woodpecker, 1 flew over Clough Head,
Skylark, c15 on Haslingden Moor,
Meadow Pipit, 4 on moorland near Thirteen Stone Hill & 1 on the side of Ogden,
Pied Wagtail, c6 especially Ogden & Calf Hey,
Grey Wagtail, 3 chasing around Heap Clough and a male at Holden Wood,
Stonechat, a pair at Calf Hey in clear fell area,
Mistle Thrush, c4 singing birds,
Song Thrush, c6 singing birds,
Fieldfare, c40 in trees at Calf Hey,
Redwing, 2 in with Fieldfares,
Coal Tit, c20 with birds calling from most plantations,
L.T.Tit, 2 in Heap Clough,
Goldcrest, 4 feeding in Heap Clough on hatch of midges,

Greenfinch, 4 in Heap Clough,

Bullfinch, female in conifers near Holden Wood,

Reed Bunting, 3 singing birds Holden Wood / Ogden plus 3 near feeders at Clough Head.
