I know this looks like a baby sparrow, but it's the ONLY sparrow I have ever seen in my garden in 18 months so am not 100% sure what it is.  It always look a bit lost and a bit gormless and I feel a bit sorry for it.

Hi Kathy, it is a female Greenfinch. 

Its still a bit early for baby ones just yet, although they are starting to breed now.

Many thanks for that, Craig. I'll be leaving Ramsbottom and the Vicarage Garden in a few weeks time to move abroad. Hopefully in Jersey I'll see more than bloody seagulls!
